Hello dear parents, students, and friends of Clifford school.

At the core of learning any language is being able to acquire a comprehensive vocabulary bank in order to communicate and comprehend efficiently and effectively. This is no easy task because of the staggering amount of words that all languages have. Adding in the complexities of learning vocabulary of a foreign language can be overwhelming for many language students. For this reason, here in Clifford Secondary English language program we place great emphasis on vocabulary acquisition and retention. Much of our content, assignments, and class exercises are specifically tailored around learning key unit vocabulary which is consistently and constantly exposed, taught, and reviewed in each lesson. Continual exposure to targeted vocabulary gives our students the best opportunity to learn, understand, and use new words correctly; ultimately building our students vocabulary bank that leads to better all-round communication and understanding of English language. For our November student of the month nominees, our teachers have selected students who have shown an excellent commitment and ability to learn targeted, lesson vocabulary! Well done everyone who was chosen this time and congratulations on your award and recognition from your teachers.

Student of the month for November is Irene in class 7.1A. Since the beginning of this school year, Irene has greatly contributed to the class by frequently answering questions, asking relevant and helpful questions, and performing well in all activities and tasks. Because of those attributes, Irene is excelling at learning our target vocabulary and scoring highly on our English programs vocabulary tests.

Katherine in 7.2 B has aced all her vocabulary tests so far. She has worked hard practicing and reviewing the words. She also uses the newly acquired vocabulary correctly on her writing tests. She pays close attention in class and does all her work excellently. Great job, Katherine! Keep it up.

Vicky in 7.3B is my nomination for Student of the Month. She has been performing very well in all of her English skills, especially in vocabulary acquisition. This year, so far, Vicky is maintaining an A+ for her vocabulary tests, which is a testament to her hard work in all vocabulary related activities.

I am thrilled to nominate Antony from 7.4B for Student of the Month. This term, he has performed exceptionally well on vocabulary quizzes and tests, showcasing his ability to use the words correctly in sentences. This not only highlights his strong understanding of the vocabulary but also his commitment to learning. Well done, Antony!

Elisa, from 7.5A, has done exceptional with new vocabulary in November. With some challenging new words, she has been able to both learn the spelling and the pronunciation. But what made her student of the month was her ability to use some of these new words correctly in a recent graded presentation. That is the essence of language learning, to use new words to communicate effectively.

Kiki from 8.1B is doing an excellent job in grade eight, particularly excelling in English vocabulary learning. Her ability to grasp and use new words effectively has impressed both her teachers and classmates. Beyond academics, Kiki stands out as a role model, demonstrating kindness, responsibility, and a positive attitude in everything she does. Her peers look up to her, and she continues to set a great example through her actions and dedication. Well done, Kiki, and keep up the excellent work!

Wendy in 8.2A is Novembers Student of the Month! Wendy exemplifies dedication and excellence in everything she does. These attributes are reflected in her high achievement in vocabulary tests and indeed all her test scores to date! Well done and keep up the great work. Congratulations, Wendy!

Philip in grade 8.3C works hard to learn new vocabulary in class. As a result, his vocabulary test scores are reflecting his commitment because he is achieving high grades. Additionally, while learning new words, Philip also focuses on pronunciation accuracy which helps his speech to be clear and easy to understand. Good job, Philip, and keep up the great work!
